The Young Performers Academy CIC
Last updated: April 2026. These terms apply to all Saturday classes, private coaching sessions and taster sessions at The Young Performers Academy CIC, Peterborough.
The Young Performers Academy CIC runs Saturday classes during Peterborough school term time only, covering 37 weeks per year. Term dates will be communicated in advance of each new term and can be found on our website. These are subject to change at any time as authorised by the Principal.
Your child will automatically be included every term in their current class. If you wish to leave or change classes, please see the Cancellation section below.
Saturday classes are charged on a weekly basis, spread equally over 12 months of the year as a monthly subscription. Spotlight Stars (5–8 years) is £20 per week (approximately £61.67 per month). Stagecraft Academy (9–12 years) and Curtain Call Company (12–18 years) are both £27.50 per week (approximately £84.79 per month). This means subscription payments are due during school holiday months where no sessions are taking place, as the cost is simply distributed evenly across the year.
Payments are taken from your credit or debit card on a recurring monthly basis via Stripe, our secure payment provider. These costs include all membership and insurance fees.
We do not offer refunds for classes or free taster sessions.
Every prospective new student may attend one free, no-obligation taster session per class group. This is to help your child find the right fit before committing to a subscription. Taster sessions do not guarantee a place in the class.
Private LAMDA and singing coaching sessions are charged at £40 per hour and must be paid in full at the time of booking.
Refunds will not be given in the event of a pupil not attending a pre-booked private session. If you need to reschedule, please contact us at least 48 hours in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you, subject to availability.
30 days' written notice is required if a student decides to no longer participate in classes. Notice must be submitted via email to admin@youngperformersacademy.org. The 30-day notice period begins from the date your email is received.
If the required notice is not received, the full payment of the following month's fees will not be refunded.
We will acknowledge your cancellation by email and confirm the date your subscription will end. Your child is entitled to attend classes until that date. If you do not receive an acknowledgement within 3 working days, please assume we have not received your notice and contact us again.
If you would like to re-join after cancelling, we cannot guarantee availability in the same class and you may be placed on a waiting list.
If your child is unable to attend classes due to an illness or injury advised by their doctor, you have two options:
Option 1 — Hold their place: You may continue paying your monthly subscription at a reduced holding rate of £20 per month for the first month following the injury (supported by a doctor's note). This reserves your child's place in the class.
Option 2 — Immediate cancellation: You may cancel without notice under these circumstances. Please note this does not guarantee your child's place upon recovery; however, we will prioritise them on the waiting list if requested.
If a child cannot attend a class for any reason, we are unable to transfer their session or provide a refund.
If for any unforeseen circumstances a class must be cancelled by YPA, we will endeavour to offer a make-up session where possible.
In the event of adverse weather conditions, venue issues, or other circumstances beyond our control, the Principal will decide whether classes will run. Parents will be notified as soon as possible via email and social media. Refunds or credits are not given in these circumstances.
YPA works towards LAMDA and IDTA examinations. Pupils will only be entered when they have reached the required standard as decided by their teacher.
Pupils entered for examinations will be required to attend all classes in the term prior to the exam. Teachers reserve the right to withdraw a student from an examination if attendance is not satisfactory.
Examination fees are non-refundable once paid.
All dates for exams, shows, performances and other activities are subject to change at any time.
Please ensure your child is brought to class promptly and collected at the time their class is timetabled to finish.
Students will not be permitted to leave the studio unsupervised unless written permission has been provided by a parent or guardian.
Should a child not be collected within one hour of the class finishing, and with no communication from the parent or guardian, we may contact social services or the police in line with our safeguarding policy.
It is the parent or guardian's responsibility to ensure YPA holds up-to-date contact details at all times.
All YPA staff should expect to be treated with respect and dignity by students, parents, guardians and members of the public at all times.
YPA reserves the right to ask any parent, guardian or student to leave — without notice — in the event of a serious breach of these terms and conditions, or any other serious misconduct.
Persistent, harassing, or unreasonable behaviour from parents or guardians will not be tolerated. Further details are available upon request.
From time to time it may be necessary for teachers to use appropriate physical contact to help improve a pupil's posture or assist with technique. This is carried out in line with our safeguarding policy and professional standards. All staff hold relevant qualifications and DBS clearance.
From time to time YPA may photograph or film classes, performances and events for use on our website, social media, and for press and promotional purposes.
By enrolling your child, you consent to this use unless you notify us in writing otherwise. Personal mobile phones and recording devices are not permitted during classes in line with our safeguarding policy.
All personal data collected during enrolment is held securely and in strict confidence in line with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. Your data will not be passed to third parties except where required for examination entry (e.g. LAMDA, IDTA) or safeguarding purposes.
Please notify us in writing of any changes to your contact details.
The Young Performers Academy CIC does not accept responsibility for loss or damage to any personal property left on the premises.
YPA holds appropriate public liability insurance for all classes and activities.
The Young Performers Academy CIC reserves the right to update these terms and conditions at any time. We will communicate material changes to enrolled families by email. Continued enrolment following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
By enrolling your child at The Young Performers Academy CIC, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to all of the above terms and conditions.
